Community & Business Manager Full Time

The Galloway & Southern Ayrshire Biosphere Partnership is seeking to appoint a new Community & Business Manager. The successful applicant will join our senior management team, working alongside our Nature Recovery Manager in supporting the UNESCO Biosphere’s Director in delivery of our 2022-32 Strategic Plan.

Post Title: Community & Business Manager
Base: Biosphere Office, Newton Stewart (hybrid flexible working)
Reporting to: Biosphere Director
Responsible For: Community and Business team
Gross Salary: £40,045 to £42,885 p.a.
Pension Contribution: Employer contribution of 8% of salary
Contract Period: 18 months, then permanent subject to funding
Contract Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week). It may occasionally be necessary to attend meetings outwith normal working hours (for which time off in lieu will be given).

The post is a chance to join a unique organisation in SW Scotland, one that is both local and global in outlook and operations. The postholder will be responsible for leading and developing the Community and Business Team whilst overseeing delivery of key strategic projects including the D&G Community Climate Action Hub, SCAMP, Biosphere Communities programme, Biosphere Certification Mark scheme, sustainable tourism and youth engagement. They will work in partnership with local communities alongside local businesses, environmental bodies and government agencies to identify and develop new opportunities that support sustainable development in the Galloway & Southern Ayrshire UNESCO Biosphere.
