PART TIME EXHIBITION GUIDE, LOCKERBIE MEMORIAL CHURCH MUSEUM
The Lockerbie Memorial Church Museum and the Pan Am 103 Lockerbie Legacy Foundation charities (LMCM/PA103LL) are actively seeking an enthusiastic and committed part time Exhibition Guide to welcome domestic and international visitors at the Remembrance House of the Lockerbie Memorial Church Museum, High Street, Lockerbie. Initially the role will cover weekends but has the scope to grow as the project expands.
The Museum project is being developed with utmost sensitivity and a commitment to social responsibility to educate visitors about Lockerbie’s rich heritage and history spanning over 6,000 years, to memorialise and educate about the deadliest terrorist attack in UK history, which occurred on the ground and in the skies over Lockerbie, and to serve as a self-sustaining reverential place of pilgrimage and commemorative community event space welcoming to both locals and visitors to the town.
The role requires a ‘can do’ work ethic, excellent communication skills, public speaking confidence, a keen interest in history plus a positive, proactive and sensitive attitude to ensure visitors have an informative and memorable experience with accurate information sharing. Responsibilities include welcoming guests at the Remembrance House, conveying a positive first impression of the Lockerbie Memorial Church Museum and its’ mission. Sharing historical information on the Pan Am 103 terrorist attack and answering questions, guiding visitors within the victims’ physical Living Memorial and their individual virtual exhibition pages. Revealing the factual Attack Timeline and demonstrating the online Legacy Story Library. Cultivate visitors learning experience to leave informed and inspired about the enduring goodness of the wee town of Lockerbie, through incalculable small acts of love, taught the world a lesson in humanity.
Previous experience is a bonus but is not essential.
