Horticultural Grower

We are looking for a Head Grower for our exciting new horticultural business. The successful applicant will be involved in a very ambitious new project with a number of interesting opportunities. They will have exposure to renewable energy technologies as the business works towards producing 100% of its energy requirements from our own farm for year round production. This will involve exposure to some cutting edge technology that is unique to the UK commercial horticulture industry.

The role is full time year round. The successful applicant will be the only grower onsite and therefore will be responsible for all of the production. The responsibilities include:

Purchasing seeds, substrates, fertilisers etc from suppliers
Fertigation and irrigation management
Implementing our Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Controlling the environmental conditions through our climate control software - lighting, temperature, ventilation, humidity etc
Diagnosing crop health issues and communicating on a regular basis with management and our consultant agronomist
Planting, transplanting, harvesting and packaging

£30,000 gross per year dependent on experience

A house can be provided which would be reduced from the gross salary

Monday - Friday

28 days holiday per year

We require applicants to have at least 2 years of commercial horticultural experience. Please highlight any relevant qualifications and professional experience on your application.
