Admin Assistant Temporary

The Galloway Activity Centre is a busy multi-activity, accommodation and watersports training provider situated on Loch Ken, 10 miles North of Castle Douglas. We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic person to join our reception team. The role would suit someone who enjoys a fast pace of work and providing a friendly welcome to our lovely guests.

Main duties include:

– Greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner

– Responding to phone and email enquiries

– Processing bookings made online and by phone

– Maintaining payment records and raising invoices

– Maintaining accurate diaries and customer bookings

– Liaising with shore staff for hire equipment, activity and tuition arrivals

– Managing the accommodation turnover, liaising with cleaning staff and ensuring accommodation is presented to a high standard for customer arrivals

We are a small, close knit team and have an ethos of flexibility and jumping in to help out where needed. Although this role is largely admin based, duties can include assisting in the kitchen, helping to clean the accommodation, hiring equipment to customers and running the odd activity session (training will be provided). Staff members all have free access to the centre’s equipment and boats to use in their free time and evening activities are often planned in the local area.

The role is full time and hours include weekends and some evenings. Due to our rural location, having your own transport is essential.
