Job Description:

As Online Shopping Assistant, you will manage our Queen’s award-winning online shopping website and additional shopping platforms, working closely with our Ecommerce Operations, Warehouse, Digital, Marketing and Buying Teams to ensure a ‘gold-standard’ customer experience and support reaching our sales goals.

Main Responsibilities:

• Managing online stock – including uploading new products, managing inventories, writing product descriptions, and collating product imagery
• Online merchandising – managing categories, menus, banners, and promotional boxes on our website to ensure a smooth and profitable customer journey
• Working closely with the Digital and Marketing teams to ensure that creative and promotional campaigns are on-brand and up to date
• Monitoring and managing customer service across our digital channels, such as Google My Business, Facebook, Instagram etc
• Maintaining our Ecommerce Social presence, including implementing the social marketing calendar
• Supporting the Ecommerce Operations team with traditional customer service – such as replying to emails – during busy periods
• Managing inventory on external online shopping platforms like Amazon, eBay, and Etsy
• Streamlining and improving our existing inventory – for example, improving product descriptions, implementing key SEO improvements to improve sales, identifying new photography opportunities, and linking products to improve the customer journey and promote cross-selling
• Identify opportunities for growth and improvements across our platforms by working with our Data and Insights team and highlighting new trends, applications, platforms and best-in-class initiatives
• Be our Online Shopping Champion, growing a robust and comprehensive knowledge of our products, promotions and categories to support our customers in finding the products they want and sharing your knowledge with key stakeholders
• Work closely with the Digital Marketing team to share product knowledge and categorisation expertise to support our online shopping marketing activities, such as Paid advertising and email marketing, and increase our ROI across these channels
• Work closely with the Digital Marketing team to implement growth strategies across our Online Shopping platforms through key campaigns, specialist projects and more
• Work with the Ecommerce and Buying Team to ensure sales targets are met, with a proactive approach to promoting products and the ability to adjust quickly to support reactive initiatives

Required skills include:

• A good understanding of online shopping from an ecommerce perspective
• Previous experience in a similar role or managing web content
• Previous experience using social media for business
• An eagerness to learn and an enthusiasm for personal growth and development
• A friendly, approachable personality, confident in communicating with customers via digital channels
• Excellent written and spoken English as you will be responsible for writing accurate product descriptions
• A passion for creating a positive customer experience
• An excitement for reaching and exceeding targets

Desirable skills include:

• Previous experience using ICG Stock Management Systems
• Experience using external online sales platforms, such as Amazon Marketplace, Etsy and eBay, as examples
•  Experience using stock feed management tools like Data Feed Watch or Channable

Benefits and Remuneration:

Location: Gretna Green – on-site

Holidays: Up to 30 days holiday per annum based on full-time – part-time colleagues calculated pro-rata

Rate of pay: Competitive, depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours per week – 5 days from 7, occasionally covering weekends and/or public holidays
