Interested in a varied role, supporting all aspects of shared living in some of our houses here at Loch Arthur?
We are looking for someone to join us and assist in caring for and supporting some of the people who live here. This is a part time role of around 20 hours per week.
We are a vibrant Camphill Community sharing life and work with people with learning disabilities. Most of us live in seven shared households which are home to around 75 people, 28 of whom are people we support. We have families who have been here for a long time, people who have recently joined us to make their home here and a small but growing team of employed people who support us too.
We would like to hear from you if you are interested in joining us in this live-out, employed role, supporting all aspects of life in a shared house and –
– you are experienced in care & support and / or feel you have the openness and aptitude to learn about our life and work-sharing approach,
– you have good communications skills and are able to work well as part of a team,
– you are willing to support in a range of ways, including with some personal care.
Some people will need help with personal care or to go shopping, and some may need regular emotional support in order to cope with daily life. There are also administrative tasks to carry out relating to providing support and there are all the domestic tasks which go with a large household. Successful applicants will be required to undergo clearance for working with vulnerable adults (PVG) and a driving license is essential.
