SHAX is a social enterprise and registered charity that provides support for people affected by homelessness and/or poverty whilst diverting household waste from landfill. We’re committed to helping those in need, recruiting and nurturing talent and saving the environment while we do it. We strive to provide quality volunteering and employability skills training and need your help to do it.
SHAX is recruiting to the post of Training & Employability Officer to recruit, train and supervise our volunteers, supported employees/volunteers and work placements while identifying learning and development needs for our staff team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a career out of making a difference.
Reporting to the Social Enterprise Manager you will lead on the learning and development of SHAX’s workforce to meet their needs and the needs of the organisation.
The role will be split between our SHAX Warehouse on the Crichton Estate and our retail shop in Dumfries town centre. There, you’ll have an opportunity to interact with our team, volunteers and customers. As our Training & Employability Officer, we want you to bring your energy and commitment to SHAX every day.
Our perfect candidate will have prior experience of recruiting and working with volunteers and be a self-starter who can organise their own workload and deliver consistent, high-quality support.
